This recipe is my go-to smoothie recipe at the moment. The fresh mint cuts through the rich chocolate flavour of the protein powder as a perfectly balanced smoothie for a quick breakfast on the run.
I enjoy meal prepping my smoothies as this saves time in the morning and is a great way to utilize fruits or vegetables that will go off if they are not used soon. In this way, I can ensure that my healthy smoothies are quick and easy to prepare and avoid unnecessary food wastage.
To make this delicious smoothie combine the following ingredients in a nutribullet or blender of choice:
Half a frozen banana
Two handfuls of baby spinach
One handful of fresh mint leaves (I usually combine the spinach, mint and banana in a freezer bag allowing me time in the morning to add wet ingredients and blend)
One serving chocolate protein powder of choice (For this recipe, I used a plant-based vegan protein powder)
One cup milk of choice (I usually use unsweetened almond milk)
One tablespoon or 15g peanut butter (No added sugar and salt)
A few blocks of ice
Additional water as needed for preferred consistency
