Advocate for the First 1000 Days | Foodie | Content Creator | Dog Mom | Entrepreneur

I'm a South African dietitian who has found a new home in the vibrant city of Istanbul. My passion lies in paediatric palliative care, where I strive to make a difference in the lives of children and their families during challenging times.

Additionally, I am a South African Certified Lactation Consultant, driven by my belief in the importance of nutrition in the first 1000 days of a child's life.

As a lifelong learner, I am always studying and immersing myself in the world of research and academia. I find great joy in exploring new knowledge and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in my field. This dedication to continuous learning allows me to provide the best possible care and support to my patients.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I am a firm believer in the power of connection and community. I love connecting with individuals from all walks of life, both locally and globally. Food, travel, and creating a happy, healthy lifestyle are my passions outside of work. These interests allow me to engage with others on a personal level and foster meaningful connections that enrich my life and the lives of those around me.

Testimonials

"I met Kirsten at Red Cross after spending 2 weeks with my son in ICU and NICU. While sitting in the dietitian waiting room I was sitting right across her door and something just started making me hope that she’ll be seeing to me as she seemed to be friendly. She is one of the nicest people I have ever met. She was kind and had patience; answered everything I had to ask. She took her time helping me and was passionate about what she was doing. Kirstin is what made me excited about my dietician appointments. She’s beautiful inside and out, she’s extremely helpful and friendly. Because of Kirstin, I was motivated to getting my son to pick up weight and I made sure to adhere to everything she recommended and my son picked up weight beautifully and her applauding me for doing a great job really made me feel successful as a mom. She made me love being a mom and made me excited to feed my baby just to show her how well he is doing."
